What’s the best kind of wax to use for making container candles? What’s the best wick to use, too?

I’m a novice at candlemaking and I want to begin using the proper materials. All the candle supply sites seem to say they have the greatest wax for pouring container candles. I’d like an experienced person’s actual feedback.
