I want to make my own candles but were do i start?

I spend a lot of money on candles i love them and cant stay away from them. My husband told me that i should just make my own instead of spending money. But i have no clue were to start can someone please give me a start before i go out and buy some more.

    YOU CAN GET KITS TO MAKE THEM AT HOBBY LOBBY OR ANY CRAFT TYPE STORE. I LOVE THEM, TOO, AND IT’S FUN TO MAKE YOUR OWN TO GO WITH YOUR DECOR! HAVE FUN!

    at any craft store you can find different kits and books on how to. it is very easy at first it might be alot to buy everything but it is very cheap to do. i find it very therapeutic too

    get some pans at a thrift store cause they’re cheap and you don’t want to spend $$ on them when you’re gonna trash them. next get some molds and wicks at hobby lobby or michaels or art and or craft store. just get clear wax and some crayons for color. you can use essential oils to scent them or melt down some ends of candles you already have. i spray pam inside my molds for easier removal. for multicolor, do it in steps, letting the first color dry before adding the next. don’t feel like you have to keep it level and upright. you can put dried flowers or leaves or stones in the wax for pretty accents. or just make oil candles with pretty lamps and stones and colored oil.

    Do a search for Joy Wax, It’s a nice soy blend that works great for containers. Never add more than 1.5oz of scent to a 16 oz candle. If you have a local candle supply house, They will help you alot, My x-wife made them for years and still does.

    u can look at a stars my dear , and u can look at the light from ur husband eyes… sure u will find something better than candels …try it for days and save ur money

    In shorter candles I use birthday (cake) candles, or votive candles, instead of wick. Also if you have left over wax from candles you can melt down in the microwave, stove top.and reuse. Try setting in the frig. for quicker cooling time between colors. Some candle factories have sales every so often on site, If you have one around your area you could check it out.

    i made candles in middle school art. our teacher just used an old electric fry pan with water in it(to prevent fires) with a coffee can in it to melt the wax in. we used plain gulf parrifin wax ,the same wax used for canning.it can be found in most grocery stores,hardware stores and so on. but your best bet is to go to a hobby/craft store then it will be a one stop shopping trip(except for the coffee can and old electric frying pan).never ever melt the wax on the stove it can spatter onto the burner causing a fire.

    who knows if you make enough you can offset the price by selling them in craftshows,or yard/garage sales.
