Can I make scented candles with fresh herbs?

Yankee Candles: Is there anything I can do to reduce or eliminate the black soot that it leaves in the jar?

Is burning candles bad for you?

but when all of a sudden the metal part that holds the candle whick is on fire, when the candles out, it seems bad. Isn’t it bad when metal is on fire?
